Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Maintenance employees are responsible for maintaining an environment of care which provides a safe and functional treatment facility for patients, visitors, staff and physicians. Ensures all critical, life safety and equipment systems are maintained to efficient operational readiness.
Essential Functions (Job Duties):
- Troubleshoots and repairs a broad variety of doors, key fob, equipment and systems
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems
- Operates a broad variety of equipment and systems
- Performs construction tasks for furnishings, equipment and systems
- Maintains an attitude of self-direction and works toward completing department goals and objectives
- Responsible for maintenance parts and material inventory to ensure maintenance functions can be completed
- Pursues educational improvements and provides training on procedures, equipment and system operations
- Maintains acceptable attendance and tardiness standards
- Works to ensure the department provides high quality cost effective maintenance support for our programs
- Serves as a maintenance source to monitor the operating status and condition of equipment and systems
- Responds to customer needs concerning HVAC systems or operations and communicates with supervisors
- Maintains and completes maintenance work orders on a daily basis

Working Expectations:
· Full-time hourly position, 40 hours per week
· Choice between consistent schedule of (4) 10-hour shifts (Mon/Tue/Wed/ Sat) 12:00 pm - 10:30 pm OR (5) 8-hour shifts (Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur/Sat)
· Maintains acceptable attendance and tardiness standards
· Works in a professional manner in actions and dress, providing service to others in a willing courteous manner
· Always communicates with patients, department staff and visitors using acceptable rules of hospitality
· Maintains proper uniform and appearance displaying pride in self and in all tasks and work performed
· Always tries to meet the priorities and needs of the maintenance department customers
REQUIRED: Must be at least 21 years of age. Full criminal & DCS background check local and federal. If you have any Felonies or more than 4 misdemeanors you would not qualify for this position per the requirements of our DCS contract.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Six months minimum experience in electrical, mechanical or related maintenance experience
· Ability to work effectively within a team environment
· Good oral and written communications skills – including reading and writing skills at a high school graduate level.
· Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
· Working knowledge of maintenance principles, theories and operations.
