INSPIRE Program Coordinator

Position Summary

The INSPIRE Program Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring LCFS is able to effectively serve families in the INSPIRE program using the 2Gen Model.  The role includes: developing and implementing strategies to engage clients; obtaining client consent for services, completing client intakes and service planning; coordinating services with community collaborative partners, assisting with workshops and/or training opportunities to promote client engagement and success; maintaining good working relationships with collaborative partner individuals and organizations; connecting clients to community resources; and ensuring client metrics are tracked in accordance with UWCI and other funder expectations.  Approximately 50% of staff time will be spent on program administration, and 50% on direct client services; this includes carrying a caseload for the INSPIRE program.

Primary Functions:

1)       Coordinate overall INSPIRE operations:

  • Supervise INSPIRE staff, interns, and volunteers
  • Review and assign client caseloads
  • Ensure all clients have completed appropriate consent forms prior to initiation of services
  • Maintain a client log to track status of clients
  • Monitor and services provided by collaborative partners and ensure all participants receive services for both youth and their adult caregivers;
  • Ensure all client outcome reporting is completed in a timely manner in accordance with funding source requirements
  • Build relationships with collaborative service partners and establish referral and outcome reporting systems and protocols, including but not limited to Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, and Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana (Goodwill), IPS 88, and  the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township (MSD-LT).
  • Encourage connections to community resources and opportunities that promote increased social capital for the family and its individual members through quarterly events.

2)     Maintain a caseload of INSPIRE clients:

  • Complete and/or review intakes for clients who have completed the consent process
  • Prepare a service plan for clients on assigned INSPIRE caseload this may be in collaboration with other program partners, including but not limited to Community Health Network, Paramount Schools of Excellence, Goodwill, and Indianapolis Legal Aid Society

3)     Support INSPIRE clients with opportunities for adjunct services that promote 2 Gen outcomes:

  • Devise recruitment strategies for new client engagement through community tabling events
  • Devise strategies for initial engagement and connection with clients referred by MSD-LT and IPS 88 to the INSPIRE program.
  • Coordinate and implement on-site (and/or virtual) Nutrition classes to promote healthy cooking and enhanced knowledge of nutrition and healthy food choices
  • Coordinate and implement on-site (and/or virtual) resources/workshops periodically (possible topics may include but are not limited to: Health Insurance enrollment, Finance/Budgeting workshops, Legal Aid, etc.)

4)      Ensure all program client outcome reporting is completed in a timely manner in accordance with funding source requirements

  • Review and enter partner data entered via INSPIRE data tracking form to ETO
  • Collaborate with data manager to ensure data is accurate
  • Share data outcomes with data and grant compliance (ex. Client success stories)

5)     Assist with program development and implementation for new programs or services, including but not limited to the Inspiring Indianapolis Youth Initiative

  • Attend Workshops and Trainings to learn about programming options to enhance community-based programming
  • Secure program resource materials
  • Evaluate and implement new programming/service opportunities

6)       Attend meetings with community organizations to enhance program operations, including but not limited to:  

  • UWCI Family Opportunity Fund Peer Learning Monthly meetings
  • Meetings with community organizations to enhance program operations, including but not limited to: INSPIRE program collaborative partner meeting and meetings with potential new resource partners

7)       Collaborate with LCFS Volunteer Coordination staff to develop volunteer base that can promote client engagement and 2Gen outcomes for the INSPIRE program

8)       Participate in  Lutheran Services in America (LSA) Results Innovation project to strengthen data collection and program outcomes; devise and implement strategies for program/services enhancements

9)       Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrate professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
  • English language skills for both verbal and written communications in a business setting
  • Preference for candidates that are bilingual (Spanish) and fluent with verbal and written communication in Spanish
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when completing paperwork/reporting client service data

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health or human service field AND at least two years’ experience working with children and families; OR five years' experience working with children and families. 
  • Documentation of eligibility to work in the United States required (I-9 form documents) required
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License
  • Clean driving record required to operate LCFS vehicles
  • Must pass criminal and DCS background check and adhere to all LCFS Employee Policies and Procedures, including requirement to maintain a drug-free workplace

Working Environment: 

  • Able to work hours needed to accomplish assigned tasks, to include evenings, weekends, & holidays
  • Position requires on-site presence at community partner locations, including but not limited to the LCFS main office, Lawrence Township Care Center, and the Lawrence Township
