GIVING HOPE A HOME

These improvements are part of a coordinated master plan for Lutherwood's 22-acre campus. The construction and renovation will help ensure that Lutheran Child & Family Services can continue to serve the needs of children, families and the community for many years to come.

New Construction

  • East and North dormitory: Two new dormitories will be flexible for use as either open or secure units. They will accommodate up to 60 additional beds for children
  • Education wing/flex building: Exclusive spaces for education, therapy groups, conferences and meetings
  • Family strengthening center/administration: Resource center for family preservation programs and support; agency's administrative support center
  • Chapel: For the spiritual growth and development of children and staff

Renovation of existing buildings

  • Huxhold Hall: 28 beds for children requiring secure care; staff ratio 1:4
  • Johnson Multi-Purpose Center: main dining hall, gymnasium, classrooms
  • Sharing Place East moves to current administration building
